Organizar un viaje costa a costa en Estados Unidos, ajustando tiempo y presupuesto, no morir en interminables desplazamientos entre ciudades y descansar en habitaciones con un minimo comfort y calidad, no es tarea facil. Estados Unidos es un pais enorme con infinidad de cosas por visitar. Si no se dispone de todo el tiempo y dinero del Mundo, entonces hay que tener en cuenta una serie de factores:

    1)Como quieres moverte por el pais: Hay varias opciones. Desde alquilar un coche en una costa y devolverlo en la otra (solo para bolsillos desahogados o viajes en grupo), comprar un coche y venderlo al final del viaje (riesgo elevado y necesario reservar unos dias extras para la compra-venta), autobus (muy barato pero interminables jornadas viajando), tren (buena relacion calidad-precio pero escasez de rutas en determinadas zonas), avion (rapido, barato y efectivo, pero donde esta el romanticismo?), o una combinacion de todas, opcion elegida para este viaje.

     2)Que ruta elegir: Aqui esta quiza la decision mas dificil. Es comun visitar los Estados Unidos y centrarse en una de las costas, pero este no es el caso, y decidir donde hacer parada se hace complicado. Finalmente y viendo como me iba a transportar hice lo siguiente: estudie los mapas de ruta de Greyhound (bus) y Amtrak (tren) y seleccione aquellas ciudades que podian ofrecerme algo interesante y que seguian una misma ruta rumbo al Oeste sin necesidad de hacer trasbordos en mitad de cada viaje.

     3)Alojamiento: Otro quebradero de cabeza ya que el objetivo es no arruinarse pero tampoco dormir en agujeros. Es muy importante decidir en que zona de la ciudad te quieres quedar, muy en funcion de como te transportes y hacer una buena investigacion por distintos buscadores y paginas locales.

     A continuacion teneis el resultado de varias semanas trabajando en los 3 puntos anteriores. Espero que os guste y que me acompaneis ;).

    Organizing a trip coast to coast in the United States, adjusting time and budget, not to die in endless journeys between cities and relax in rooms with minimal comfort and quality, is not an easy task. The United States is a huge country with lots of things to visit. If you dont get lots of money and time there are some factors that you must check before:

    1)How you want to move across the country: There are several options. From renting a car in one coast and drop it off in the other (only comfortable pockets or group travel), buy a car and selling it to the end of the trip (high risk and the need to book some extra days for the purchase and sale), bus ( very cheap but endless days traveling), train (good value for money but a shortage of routes in certain areas), flight (quick, cheap and effective, but where is the romance?), or a combination of all, chosen option for this trip.

     2)Which route to choose: Here is perhaps the most difficult decison . It is common to visit the United States and focus on  one of the costs, but this is not the case, and decide where to stop is difficult. Finally, and seeing how I was going to move across the country I made the following: study the Greyhound (bus) and Amtrak (train) route maps and select those cities that could offer something interesting  to me and wich follow the same route to the West without having to make transfers in the middle of each journey.

     3)Accommodation: Another headache since the objective is not to be ruined but also  not to sleep in holes. It is very important to decide in which part of town you want to stay, depending on wich is your transportation mode and research strongly by various search engines and local pages.
