-Millenium Park

     Sin duda alguna Chicago tiene una visita obligada al Millenium Park. Es un parque en el cual nos podemos encontrar varios elementos que llaman realmente la atencion de cualquier persona.

1. Jay Pritzker Pavilion, que es un anfiteatro donde se realizan conciertos al aire libre.






2. Crown Fountain, creado por el espanol Jaume Plensa, y consiste en dos grandes bloques en los que van apareciendo, a traves de leds, distintas caras de ciudadanos de Chicago.  En verano de las bocas de las caras salen dos chorros de agua y la gente las utiliza para refrescarse.




3. Cloud Gate o la "Alubia", como tambien ha sido bautizada no oficialmente. Realmente sorprendente, al menos a mi me lo parece. Es una especie de alubia gigante, como una gota de mercurio, que refleja parte la ciudad y las caras de los que alli estan al mismo tiempo. Realmente espectacular, y posiblemente desde ya, en el numero Uno de mi ranking personal de construcciones modernas mas bellas, superando a las anteriores campeoneas, las Torres Petronas.

     Y como la cosa va de cine, esta alubia me recuerda muchisimo a una pelicula de mi infancia, "El Vuelo del Navegante" (que bonito es haber crecido en los 80).

-Millenium Park 

       No doubt, Chicago has a mandatory visit to Millennium Park. It is a park where you can find several elements that really call the attention of anyone.

1. Jay Pritzker Pavilion, it is a place where outdoor concerts are celebrated.


2. Crown Fountain, created by the Spanish  Jaume Plensa, consists of two large blocks in which appear, through LEDs, different faces of Chicago citizens. In summer from the mouth of the faces runs a stream of water and people use it to refreshing.


3. Cloud Gate or the "Bean", as has also been named unofficially. Really surprising, at least I think so. It is a kind of giant bean, like a drop of mercury, which reflects part of the city and the faces of those who are there at the same time. Really spectacular, and possibly from now, the number one of my personal ranking of most beautiful modern stuffs, surpassing the previous champion, the Petronas Towers.

      And how it's going about cinema, this bean reminds me a lot to a movie of my childhood, "The Flight of the Navigator" (how nice was growing up in the 80's).

-Hancock Tower

     Otra visita que creo que deberia hacer todo aquel que vaya a Chicago, es subir a la Torre Hancock. Esta se encuentra al Norte de la Avenida Michigan, que por cierto es algo asi como la Quinta Avenida en Nueva York. Desde lo alto puedes contemplar la inmensidad de la ciudad de Chicago, asi como el enorme Lago Michigan, que porque te dicen que es un lago, si no apostarias todo a que es un mar o el mismo oceano. Subir vale 16,80$, un precio razonable ya que subir al Empire State o al Top of the Rock del Rockefeler Center de Nueva York, ya superan los 20$, y bueno si, es Nueva York, pero estas vistas no desmerecen en absoluto.

-Hanckok Tower 

     Another visit that everyone who goes to Chicago should make is going up to the top of the Hancock Tower. This building is located at north of Michigan Avenue, which is something like Fifth Avenue in New York. From the top you can contemplate the vastness of the city of Chicago, and also the huge Lake Michigan, that, because you know that it is a lake, if not you would bet all your money that you are seeing a sea or an ocean. Going up to the top cost 16.80$, a reasonable price. Going up to the top of the Empire State Building or the Top of the Rock at Rockefeler Center in New York, already exceed 20$, and yes, it is New York, but these views do not detract at all .
